The partnership development visit to PT Pupuk Sriwijaya (Pusri) Palembang was held on Thursday and Friday, December 15-16, 2022. PT Pusri Palembang is a company established as a pioneer urea fertilizer producer in Indonesia. Pusri started its business operation with the main purpose to implement and support government policies and programs in the field of economy and national development, especially in the fertilizer and other chemical industries. PT Pusri as the pioneer of national fertilizer production for more than 50 years has proven their capability and commitment in carrying out the important task given by the government.
In addition to being a national fertilizer producer, PT Pusri also carries out the task of conducting trading business, providing services and other businesses related to the fertilizer industry. Pusri is responsible for the distribution and marketing of subsidized fertilizers to farmers as a form of Public Service Obligation (PSO) to support the national food program by prioritizing the production and distribution of fertilizers for farmers throughout Indonesia. The sale of non-subsidized urea fertilizer to fulfill the needs of plantation, industry and export sectors is another part of the company's activities outside the responsibility of Public Service Obligation (PSO) implementation.
The visit was conducted by 4 lecturers of the Department of Agribusiness, Dr. Novi Rosanti, S.P., M.E.P., Yuliana Saleh, S.P., M.Si, Dian Rahmalia, S.P., M.Si, and I Rani Mellya Sari, S.P., M.Si. The visit was received by Ms. Virlianda Sysmita, Mr. Adri Anzuda and Mr. Anggi Arief Wibowo of the Business Transformation Division of PT Pusri Palembang. PT Pusri welcomed the cooperation visit. The Agribusiness Department opens the opportunity to collaborate with PT Pusri with the MBKM student program through internships, village development and research that will be collaborated. PT Pusri Palembang will follow up this program in the form of a cooperation script with the Department of Agribusiness FP Unila.
